Heather Thompson, Director of Marketing and Member Engagement, presents Just Be Kind volunteers with a $2,000 donation to support its coat distribution efforts

Avon, IN –  Hendricks Power Cooperative is proud to announce a $2,000 donation to the Just Be Kind Club, a local student-led organization dedicated to fostering kindness and supporting community needs. The funds were provided on behalf of Hendricks Power Cooperative and its members to help support the club’s impactful initiatives.

The donation was utilized to purchase coats for the organization’s winter coat drive to ensure students in need throughout Hendricks County stay warm during the colder months. The coats will be distributed to students in partnership with local schools, helping to alleviate the burden on families and ensure that every child has a warm coat.

“We’re happy to be able to assist the Just Be Kind Club in their efforts to provide coats to every student in need,” said Heather Thompson, Director of Marketing and Member Engagement at Hendricks Power Cooperative. “The students that have organized the coat drive and distribution have gone above and beyond to help their neighbors, demonstrating remarkable initiative and compassion. We can’t wait to see what their next creative project entails to benefit our community.”

The Just Be Kind Club has been actively engaged in a variety of community initiatives aimed at spreading kindness and making a positive impact. The organization is widely recognized for creating and selling yard signs, t-shirts, and other items to promote its mission. Proceeds from these sales are donated to support local causes. Past initiatives include Turkeys for Seniors, an Art & Music Festival fundraiser, and a game tournament fundraiser. With the support of local organizations like Hendricks Power Cooperative, the club continues to expand its reach and impact, inspiring others to join its mission of kindness and generosity.
