Trace the journey of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from its origins as a testing ground for production cars to the historic 1994 debut of the Brickyard 400.  Staff from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum will join us at the Avon Library for this special program titled, “The Brickyard Legacy: from Stock Car Roots to Racing's Crown Jewel.” Join us at the Avon-Washington Township Public Library (AWTPL), Wednesday, July 15th at 6:00 p.m. in lower level Meeting Room A. This session explores the strategic "why" behind bringing NASCAR to the world's most famous oval and how that decision has redefined the sport for over 30 years.  Discover how the Brickyard opened the door for a new era of major events at IMS and why any race held within these iconic 2.5 miles instantly becomes a "crown jewel" for drivers and fans alike. This program is free, catered to adults (all ages are welcome), and open to the public. You do not need to have an Avon Library card to attend.  Registration is encouraged and walk-ins are welcome.
