Hendricks Power announces '23-'24 Board of Directors and Annual Updates

Avon, IN — July 1-20, 2023,

Hendricks Power Cooperative hosted its 87th Annual Meeting & Member Appreciation Event on Thursday, July 20, at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds. The event included a board of directors’ election, an electric vehicle demonstration, a live line safety demonstration, family fun activities, co-op updates, giveaways, and a chance for members to win prizes.

Nearly 1,900 members registered to vote throughout the July 1-20 voting period – either online via their SmartHub account or in person at the event. The 950 members who registered at the event received $10 in fair food vouchers and all members who voted were entered for a chance to win one of five $500 bill credits.

Election results were announced at the business portion of the meeting in the Hendricks Power Expo Hall that evening. In addition to election results, the agenda also included cooperative updates and the announcement of the five $500 bill credit recipients.

Election results were as follows:
Area 4: Hal Truax, Incumbent
Area 5: David Thomas, Incumbent
Area 6: Keith Cooper, Incumbent

The five recipients of the 500-dollar bill credits were:
Linda Derrick, Filmore
Arthur Locke, Avon
Richard Ruhe Sr., Coatesville
Mark Schopper, Brownsburg
Marilyn Ward, Brownsburg

Hendricks Power CEO, Greg Ternet, provided updates on infrastructure investments and equipment upgrades to increase reliability, improved outage response including record-low outage times in 2022, and the rate update earlier in the year. He then spoke about the C&B Graham Solar Energy Project in the Tilden area that recently became operational, informing members that participation options would be provided when available. He also reminded attendees of the core values of a cooperative and of its mission to serve its member-owners.

We are already looking forward to next year’s meeting.”
