PLAINFIELD, IN (Jan. 13, 2026) – By popular demand Hendricks Live! in downtown Plainfield is excited to welcome the return of the GRAMMY® award-winning bluegrass band Steep Canyon Rangers on Thursday, May 7th. The Steep Canyon Rangers performance is part of the Spring 2026 season presented by Hendricks County Bank and Trust and supported by Hendricks Regional Health. 


Tickets for Steep Canyon Rangers go on sale this Friday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m at hendrickslive.org/events.


The Steep Canyon Rangers have long held traditional bluegrass paramount, while possessing an exceptional ability to bring it down the mountain and to incorporate accessible influence from all walks of the region. With the band’s last few albums, they have gained recognition from well beyond the world of bluegrass, earning a reputation as some of the most influential songwriters in Americana today.


Over the band’s esteemed career, the three-time GRAMMY® nominees have released 14 studio albums, three collaborative albums with actor and banjoist Steve Martin, been inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame, and appeared on some of music’s biggest stages. In 2013, Nobody Knows You won the GRAMMY® Award for Best Bluegrass Album, while 2012’s Rare Bird and 2020’s North Carolina Songbook garnered nominations in the same category.


So far, the Hendricks Live! 2026 season includes:

  • SingALong Broadway* - Join us for an evening of music and magic with a sing-a-long of your favorite Broadway show tunes: Thursday, Jan. 29
  • Second Hand Soul Band* This Chicago band brings you “songs you remember from the nights you don't” with Motown, funk & soul: Friday, Feb. 20
  • Jim Messina* - Known for songs such as “Stay in the Night,” “House at Pooh Corner,” and “Your Mama Don't Care,” Jim Messina will be performing songs from his entire career: Saturday, March 21
  • Soul Asylum Acoustic* See Soul Asylum’s Dave Pirner and Ryan Smith perform an intimate, one-of-a-kind acoustic set: Wednesday, April 8
  • Classic Seger: Rock & Roll Never Forgets 2026 Live - Relive the magic of timeless hits and classic rock anthems in an unforgettable night of Rock & Roll, featuring classic Bob Seger songs: Thursday, April 9
  • Carrie Newcomer* The American singer, songwriter, and author has produced 19 solo CDs and has received numerous awards for her music: Friday, April 10
  • Harriet - Trying to Get the Feeling Again - The British singer-songwriter has drawn comparisons to Karen Carpenter, interlacing her nostalgic original material with interpretations of much-loved hits: Wednesday, April 22
  • Dirty Deeds - The AC/DC Experience* - Celebrate the thunderous energy of the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson era with a power-packed performance that takes you on a journey through the story that is AC/DC: Saturday, April 25
  • Steep Canyon Rangers* - Originally formed in 2000, these bluegrass virtuosos have become widely known and critically acclaimed for collaborating with actor/banjoist Steve Martin: Thursday, May 7
