PLAINFIELD, Ind. - The Hendricks County Economic Development Partnership (HCEDP) announced today the appointment of Jennifer Chamberlin as its next Executive Director.

Chamberlin brings more than 20 years of experience spanning economic development, community planning, real estate strategy, market research, and location intelligence. Her career uniquely combines public sector experience with more than a decade advising nationally recognized real estate organizations on where to invest, expand, and grow. This combination gives her a distinctive perspective on how communities compete for investment, support existing employers, and position themselves for long-term economic success. Throughout her career, she has served as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, translating complex economic, demographic, and market data into strategic decisions that support business investment, site selection, and organizational growth.

Most recently, Chamberlin served as Director of Market Research for Thompson Thrift, where she provided market intelligence supporting national multifamily development in housing strategy and investor-focused thought leadership communications. She analyzed demographic, labor, housing, migration, and economic trends to help senior leadership evaluate market opportunities, development conditions, and long-term regional momentum.

Previously, Chamberlin spent more than a decade with Simon Property Group, where she advised executive leaders, leasing teams, and development partners on market positioning, portfolio strategy, business expansion, and growth opportunities across a national portfolio of more than 200 shopping centers. Her work included trade area analysis, demographic and workforce assessment, competitive positioning, consumer research, and location strategy - experience that provides valuable insight into the factors businesses consider when deciding where to invest and grow.

Chamberlin began her career in municipal community and economic development with the City of Portage and the Town of Fishers. In those roles, she worked with public officials, developers, business leaders, residents, and regional organizations on business attraction, redevelopment, long-range planning, and community growth initiatives for nearly a decade.

As Executive Director, Chamberlin will lead HCEDP's efforts to attract new investment, support business retention and expansion, strengthen regional partnerships, advance strategic initiatives, and position Hendricks County as one of the nation's most competitive locations for business growth.

The announcement comes following HCEDP’s recent relocation to MADE@Plainfield. Together, the move and Chamberlin's appointment position HCEDP to support the continued growth of Hendricks County and the organization’s commitment to innovation and regional partnerships.

Chamberlin is expected to begin her role in August 2026.
