We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Classroom Assistant Teacher to join our daycare center's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for children. The candidate should have a strong understanding of child development and be able to work collaboratively with other staff members. 

Essential job functions:

●  Assist the lead teacher with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities. 

● Provide emotional and social support to children, creating a safe and nurturing environment. 

● Observe children and maintain accurate records of their progress and development. ● Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive and positive learning environment for children. 

● Help with classroom management, including maintaining order and discipline among children. 

● Communicate with parents regarding children's progress and behavior. ● Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom. 

• Attending staff meetings.

• Ability to work during evenings and on weekends, as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE:

•  High school diploma or equivalent. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. 

• Knowledge of child development and early childhood education best practices. 

• Ability to lead and motivate a team of caregivers, providing guidance and support when needed. 

•  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

•  Ability to pass a background check and drug screening 

• Warm and approachable disposition

•  Passion for early childhood development.

• A desire and willingness to learn and be coached in the field. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Able to consistently lift up to 40 pounds.

• Able to stand on your feet for 80% of the work day.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This position will take place in an indoor office environment as well as outdoor environment, with climate changes. It may involve being exposed to hazardous conditions.

• The position may require working in various classrooms and with different age groups throughout the day. The work environment is typically a busy and sometimes noisy classroom. The classroom floater will work closely with teachers and other staff members to ensure that children are safe and engaged in age-appropriate activities.
